I have to elaborate on something that Female Barber said in her blog. People live your lives in search of your dreams. Don't miss an opportunity to do the things you want. Always strive to do your best at everything you do, and don't be afraid to take some chances. Yes, sometimes you will be disappointed and sometimes hurt, but always remember to live your lives with no regrets. Life really is very short and we don't get a second chance. Tell people how you feel and always offer a hug and a shoulder.
Looking forward to a long weekend.  Even if I have some homework at least I'm off work. This morning my husband left on his long bike ride with his brother down into Arkansas, and my family is getting ready to head out and come stay with me. I am really looking forward to the visit because I have not seen them for months. I wish our weather wasn't going to be so hot, but I guess you can't have everything perfect.

I'm not exactly sure why every time that I plan time off from work for vacation it seems like I am working double time in order to take a couple of days. I am sure that the rest of you have experienced this same thing.  I don't understand because your work load should be the same really, right? Maybe others around you freek out that you will not be there so they ask more of you? The one thing I am sure of is that no one is going to do my work while I'm gone. So, why does it just not spread out over a couple of weeks instead it seems like it all falls into the couple of days before the vacation? I guess that must just be the price we pay for taking time off.

I love my family, but sometimes they completely drive me crazy.  I'm not saying that I would trade any of them in  for new ones. :)  This week we are preparing for our finals in this class, I have a mid-term in my Money and Banking class, and my family is coming in from Colorado for the weekend.  It wasn't too bad with it was just my Mom and her dog. It even wasn't bad with it was my Mom, her dog, and my sister. Now it's the entire family, except for my brother-in-law. I was stressed beyond belief until my sister and her family decided to stay in a hotel, and I decided to take some time off work at the end of the week to do my homework. I have been working all week as much ahead as I can so that I will be done. Hopefully, this plan will pay off and I will have a chance to relax and have some fun with them!  Have a great Holiday weekend everyone!  Enjoy your family!

I was reminded this week that things happen to us for a reason. We may not always understand or agree with the things that happen to us, but I believe they all happen for a reason. I also believe there is a master plan for all of us, and when one door closes another opens. It's important to always hold onto hope.

Is anyone into watching the season finale of Grey's? I am pumped! I normally don't watch much TV, but I watched last week and saw the previews for tonight, so I decided to record it and maybe even sit and watch it. I will be glad that several season programs will be over because it makes me feel better when I know I'm not missing anything. :)  Thank goodness for tivo!

It was a crazy day at work today. I know you have all experienced days that you just sat back, watched, and laughed. This was one of those days for me. We all have at least one person that we work with that does nothing but works hard at doing nothing, and complains about being so slammed that they are tied to their desk. It just makes me laugh because the time they spend complaining about it they could have just done the work.

I had some great news this week! I have been working since Christmas break on a personal goal that I am excited to say I just met this week. I have lost 20 pounds since Christmas on Weight Watchers. I am excited because it has not been easy, and I have suffered from health related problems because of the weight. I made a decision that I was going to do something about it. I had been successful on the Weight Watchers program many years ago, so I went back at Christmas just after classes ended for the break and I re-joined. I have been working on my goal since then. For the past few months I have posted my progress on Facebook in hopes that I could also inspire others that they too could to lose the weight if they wanted to. I found several friends who have been on the program/or are on the program and it was fun having a support group. I am surprised that more people don't ask me about my weight loss because I have lost two and almost three dress sizes.  I feel so much better!  Folks I enjoy success stories, so please tell me yours.

Every time that I feel down, or even have a bad day I am reminded that there are others that are really in need. Today as not a particularly bad day, but it really wasn't a particularly good day either. You know the kind! I visited with a friend just before class tonight and she was telling me a story about a young man who's father just passed away suddenly. The young mans mother doesn't want him.  He is supposed to be hyperactive with Aspergers Disorder.  He works part time at McDonald's, doesn't drive, and has no car.  He has very little and with his father passing, I was told he has no where to go. My friend said the young man has grandparents who indicated they would help the boy to get his drivers licence, but couldn't help with a car, or a place to live.  My friend said that her church was trying to help the young man to find an inexpensive place to live, some appliances for his kitchen, and anything else they can.  The family that he is living with right now indicated that he shows no signs of the disorders he is thought to have. This is a very sad story of a young man that no one seems to want and I was very humbled by it.  It reminds me that even on a bad day I am thankful for all that god has given me, and the reminder that I need to help others every chance that I have to do so.

The weekend was fantastic! Although, the day was hot the bike ride was awesome. As long as we keep moving we stayed comfortable. We rode 130 miles. Our trip took us  through beautiful Wyandotte County Park, Leavenworth, and Parkville.  We stopped at a fund raiser across from Worlds of Fun that was sponsored by BACA - Bikers Against Child Abuse. What a wonderful cause. While we were on our ride we saw the police escorting about 30 really old farm tractors that were being driven down the road. They were on some sort of a ride and the tractors were wonderful looking.  I believe they were probably restored better than original. It was a site to see because people were coming outside and yelling as the tractors passed by.

So, people always ask me if the elevator business has it's ups and downs.  That is a classic!  Well this week  truly had ups and downs.  Overall a very good week, but I'm glad it's over.  I am taking some "me" time tomorrow to take a long motorcycle ride with my husband and family.  Looking forward to some sunshine and some time off.  I find I need down time after a crazy busy week. Have a great weekend all!
